Nicole Hernandez is a UNF Communications alumna, and is currently a supervising editor for NPR, where one of the new challenges is working with a network of more than 270 member stations. After graduation she started as the overnight multimedia reporter at The Florida Times-Union/Jacksonville.com, balancing the breaking news beat with updating the website/homepage overnight. She moved into the homepage editor position at the outlet before becoming an online content producer at BostonGlobe.com. Within her first year there, Hernandez was editing and producing the digital coverage of the Boston Marathon bombings and the 2014 Aaron Hernandez murder case. She moved out of the newsroom and into a position as a digital producer for the Globe’s Opinion & Idea’s section, before the love of breaking news pulled her back in. Hernandez graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Communication, with a focus in journalism, from UNF.
